Meet Delta

Updated: Aug 1, 2022

This is Delta. She arrived Jan 18 2017 from a Cat Colony in Surrey. Delta is about 3, well 3 and a half now. VOKRA was trying to trap a pregnant cat at the colony and Delta decided to get trapped instead. She went to the vet, was tattooed and spayed, and once healed she was released back into the Colony as she was Feral. As defined by Pet MD `A feral cat is typically born in the wild or outdoors with little to no human interaction. If you attempt to get too close or try to pet them, feral cats view your hand as a claw that will harm them and will hiss and/or run away. Feral cats are born from other ferals or from stray cats` A little later on she went and got herself trapped again. And again. By this time this street smart girl knew that the traps meant humans. It was decided that if she really wanted to be with people so much we would give it a try.

This is currently Delta`s resting cat face. I like to think it`s because she likes to sleep on my bed when I am not in it and I was sitting in bed when this photo was taken. Delta has a sensitive soul and is easily upset. Any change makes her nervous and when she gets nervous she shows it by hissing and sometimes spitting. She would rather run than aggress which is a good thing. We are taking things slowly, but we are making progress.
