Cages are necessary

I decided as Saffi had displayed zero interest in the plants that it was safe to remove their cages and let them have a little cage free time to grow. As you can see that was a terrible idea. Within hours she found a spot of plant free dirt just large enough for her to sit in. She didn't use it as a litter box, just her own personal jungle.

Being a personal jungle she felt the need to rearrange the dirt a little to make it a bit more comfortable. Needless to say, she got booted out after this photo, the dirt was swept up and replaced and the cage went back on. I am letting the prickly cactus be cage free as she shows no inclination in getting cozy with it.
