The empty lot next to mine is no longer empty.
It is filled with large vehicles, pipes, hydraulics and many workers. As they This means from about 7:30 -8am until usually 6-7 pm there are lots of lovely loud noises. Sometimes the floor vibrates, sometimes not. When this all started weeks ago I was concerned that the noise, vibrations etc. would be too much stress for the cats. Thankfully after a day or so almost everything was considered normal. In fact I think at this point the vacuum is scarier. Occasionally when they catch a glimpse of one of the drillers?, back hoes etc. moving from the window, especially when it starts up Nynjas eyes go wide and she goes still. Until of she remembers what this strange yellow contraption is.
There is one definite change in Nynja and Drakes behavior. Nap time has shifted. It once was that nap time started between 1 and 2 pm and lasted for a few hours. I could count on this consistently and on my days off that was when I did my chores, outings etc. This also meant that when I arrived home from work everyone was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready to play. Now nap time starts usually around 8. As Nynja is getting cuddlier by the day and Drake loves to be nestled on my chest or neck I am now surrounded by cats on the couch after dinner. I'm not complaining.
Below is a video of a quite day on the construction site.
