Rosie and Jett

Salta and Pepper left the house for Christmas to another foster home. They have settled in and are loving the space. After Christmas I received a call that a recent owner of some rats, 2 months, had left home and left the rats behind. The family felt ill-equipped to handle these pets. In those two months the former owner did spend quite a bit of time with them as they girls are friendly, healthy and inquisitive.

Rosie is the beige hooded, with a star on her forehead. She is the explorer of the two. I'm not sure why it happens like that, but where there are two one always seems to be more exploratory than the other. She likes to eat her snacks one at at time and then come back for more. Cage free time is interesting with her as she wants to run all over the place so it looks like I am doing a dance as I try to keep her on a flat surface of me, and not leaping to a piece of furniture. The rat snuggy helps a little.

Jett is the black rat. She is the cuddler. She is content to just sit on me. She likes her treats as well, but after sampling the first one prefers to take as many as possible and then sit and eat her stockpile. Why Rosie doesn't steal them I don't know. I think Jett is the one that also buries the food dish. So I need to un-bury it occasionally so I can see if they've actually eaten the food or if it's just covered.
