Great News! After a year of being in my home Wallee was adopted and picked up on Thursday. He's gone to live with a lovely young family who also have a mellow older cat. I'm sure they will be best buds before long.
What was supposed to happen was Wallee gets picked up on Thursday, 3 of the girl rats taken to their new family in the West End on Monday early afternoon and the other 3 to their new foster home and new buddy George Monday night. Sometime along the way I would get 2 new cats. Well, all of that happened and then some but not as I expected.
What actually happened.
We got a call that some fancy (aka pet) rats were released into an alley. SARS managed to trap 2 of them Friday night, and they needed somewhere to go. They happened to be at VOKRA overnight, so Sharon was also able to get some cat food for me. Saturday at 5:30 Susan came to pick up all the girls and the old man rats so that I could quarantine then new intakes. Sharon showed up with the new rats at the same time so she sat in her car until after Susan had left, 5:45. They had to stay in their temporary cage as I obviously did not have enough time to clean any cages. Then Sharon is off to start the 3 hour wait until she can go home without breaking quarantine.
About 6:15 the new cats arrived. So I got them set up, cleaned the rat cage and got the new rat boys set up.
You may be wondering about when I ate, said hello the Dewdney and Wilson, or went to bed. Then answer is....
eventually.
