Alfie is 3 years old. His back legs aren't working so well. His lungs are a mess, and always have been. Rats live about 2-3 years but this old man shows no signs of slowing down.
He loves his evening treat of a tasty nut, only one though, as he's a fat little guy and too many nuts aren't good for his waistline. Once he realizes he's not getting a second nut he also enjoys his seaweed. It's a fun little crunchy snack that IS good for him so he gets as much as he wants.
As he can't balance only on his back legs anymore he has to balance with one front paw and hold he treat with the other.
