A busy two weeks

On Nov 11 I received two new little ladies. Kitty and Dolly were born in the wilds of Coquitlam. They were trapped with their parents. Mom and Dad were TNR, that's Trapped, Neutered and Released, as they were just too wild to be able to be brought into a home. These two girls were more scared than aggressive, and young enough (4 months old) we can help them become great house cats.

For the first time ever I decided to unofficially change their names as Kitty and Dolly are too close together in sound and just don't really work for me. Kitty is now Erica and Dolly is now Shirley.

Erica came to me just recovered from her spay. She is a black tabby with a little bit of tuxedo. She's the larger of the two and also she shyest. Shirley is a tuxedo and her head is so small I can completely enclose it in my hand. She was spayed on Thursday and is healing well. She is the braver of the two especially at night when I am tucked in bed.

We've made some strides. Both will take treats from my hand. I can stealth pet Erica but she mostly hides unless there are treats and toys involved. She is extremely cautious when things change. Shirley will let me pet her, but only really likes it when I am trapped under the blankets. Then she can't get enough, and will often snuggle on the blankets. However they still hide when people come around so we still have some work to do.
